Our Journey:
Our Support Services team provides a range of essential non-clinical services that help our hospitals run. We provide food services, central production kitchen, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.
Shifts Available
Position (Ongoing)
Days: Monday and Friday (07:30-15:00)
(28 hours per fortnight)
The Food Services department at Kingston requires qualified Menu Monitor to cover shifts in Chestnut Gardens Aged Care - Doveton. The ideal candidate will enjoy working within a committed team who strive to consistently deliver high quality services and who can commit to working 14 hours per week with an opportunity to back fill additional shifts where available.
A Day in the Life:
The Menu Monitor is responsible for the collection and accurate collation of manual and/or electronic Patient Menus in line with set guidelines, while ensuring that appropriate assistance is provided to the patients to make their menu selections in accordance with their prescribed diet code. The position will liaise with Nursing employees, Dieticians and Allied Health specialists to ensure appropriate nutrition and hydration is offered to all our health consumers.
The role will provide a high quality, customer focused service to internal and external customers. Efficient communication and timely responses to requests for service are paramount for this position in delivering sustainable service delivery.
About You:
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Excellent Customer Service Skills to provide a personable approach to our patients and visitors at Monash Health
- A proactive approach and a team player
- Great attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise and complete tasks while working alone or as part of a cohesive team
- A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service from a health care or hospitality environment
What you need:
- Current Food Handlers Certificate- Level 1
- Food Handling Certificate (SITXFSA001)- Use hygienic practices for food safety
- Comprehensive understanding of diet codes, texture modified foods and fluids, food allergies and intolerances
- Established knowledge of Monash Health processes and procedures
- Ability to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Basic to intermediate computer skills
